ISLAMABAD – A fundraiser organised by TLC daycare in collaboration with the Future Leaders of Pakistan (FLP) for the children living at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, was held at the TLC Daycare here on Saturday.
FLP is a not-for-profit youth organisation that works for welfare and awareness in Pakistani society.
“Somebody had to take the initiative for the welfare of the innocent children of the inmates at Adiala Jail, and we decided to raise funds and collect donations for these children,” said Qudsia Sadiq, the FLP behind the project.
Tickets for the funfair were sold by the members of FLP and the TLC administration around the city, the proceeds from which were for the funds. Moreover, donations in the form of foodstuff, clothes, toys, books, and hygiene material such as soaps and shampoos were also collected.

The funfair was full of fun-filled activities for children and their parents alike. There was a pony for riding, a jumping castle, a potter’s wheel, face-painting stall for children, and stalls selling clothes, drinks, eatables, and souvenirs as well. A local band also performed to entertain at the funfair.

“I am very glad that my children were able to enjoy activities and contribute to making a difference in the lives of needy children at the same time!” said a delighted parent at the funfair.

“At TLC, we take our social responsibility as seriously as the education and care of our students. That is why we decided to collaborate with FLP and raise funds and donations to bring a smile on the faces of the faultless children at the jail,” said Beena Zafar, the Principal of TLC, a daycare centre in sector F-6 of Islamabad.

FLP and TLC plan on organising more events in the coming month in order to raise the targeted amount of funds. More information can be obtained regarding this activity on http://www.flp.org.pk.
